Rip Hayman - Waves: Real and Imagined
Take a deep breath and sink into Waves: Real and Imagined. Deeply calming, spiritual ambient music guided by flute and ocean ~
It's beautiful new and archival recordings from Rip Hayman, a former student of John Cage and Ravi Shankar and founder of the Ear Inn (an experimental music haven located in Soho).
A wonderfully balanced record composed of two sides, "waves for flutes" and "Seascapes," recorded in 1977 and last year on the Pacific Ocean. For fans of the hypnotic dreamstate reminiscent of Mary Anne Leach recordings and seminal Environments nature series.
Not to be missed, from Sean McCann's always on point Recital Program.
