Bergsonist – Chaos
For her second release on Borft, following a split with Isabella in 2016, NYC's Bergsonist presents five forkfuls of rapturous, mercurial techno under the Chaos caption. Unbelievably prolific while steadfastly concentrated in her digital output, Chaos pinpoints five elements from the artist's weather system. Beginning with the half-time stomper "SELFCULTIVATION," where diligent kick is followed by wilder metallic whirr; "BOMBSILICONE" is a warm but treacherous 130bmp glider / groover, bathing its beat in tepid organ-tone chords. "JUPITER FUNDS," the Gemini-esque flashbulb dance track, precedes the true disarray of "CHAOS" - tuned and untempered drum patterns shifting focus with pointed and playful erraticism. The darkly jubilous "TENTATION" closes things out with off-kilter melodic stabs, tinselly strings and whispered words over punchy meter.
