A wee-bit about Commend’s own: Nina is from Perth, and now she lives in New York. She deejays to share music with her friends. If you’ve ever been in the shop, you know the lovely Nina.

We have a visitor! Currently based in Los Angeles, Ben Babbitt has worked extensively in collaborative situations as a member of Pillars and Tongues, intermedia collective Cardboard Computer, and in the world of film. He has toured internationally, most recently as a member of Weyes Blood, and creates the score for the episodic video game Kentucky Route Zero. His solo work incorporates ways of layering and deconstructing recordings of the human voice, destabilizing and reconstituting them into tightly-woven tapestries of sound.

Ben Babbitt joins us from LA to share a specially curated ambient performance for the Commend space. His performance incorporates dynamically atmospheric compositions using live singing, collaged vocal textures, and enveloping swathes of synthesis. His music creates a warm soundscape, entrancing and energizing.
