V/A - All Welcome Volume Two
Capping off a monumental 2020, Good Morning Tapes present their second compilation this year, All Welcome II. The contents collected on this installment broadcast a terrifically optimistic set of scenes courtesy of members both new and familiar to the broader GMT constellation. Much like the previous volume of All Welcome, the music contained here implies easy association, one could call it a scene report, but it defies easy categorization or uniformity.
All Welcome II builds an astonishing arc, opening with a powerful and ethereal piece courtesy of HTRK singer Jonnine, "The Tides Do That With Me", and closing with a seminal celestial work from Sex Tags / Wania affiliate Vera Dvale that conspires to inspire long after the record has expired. Existing between these two pieces are an ecstatic collection of lower~tempo body music from some unexpected players. From Georgia's leftfield dancehall piece "Dreams (In The Garden)", to a hazy, daybreaking tune from XVARR titled "Elementals", even a pair of barefoot downtempo burners courtesy of newcomers Os/Sienis' with their emotional breakbeat "Power Source", and D.K.'s dembow burner "Take Me Higher". Time after time, release after release, we continue to be astonished by the vibrancy of Good Morning Tapes; trust your intuition and take a walk with them.
